It is caused by a bacteria called micrococcus sedantarius while some workers believe a bacteria called Dermatophilus congolensis may be implicated. Small circular erosions are seen on the heels, forefoot and web spaces are seen. Pitted keratolysis affects those who sweat profusely (hyperhidrosis) especially if they wear occlusive shoes or boots for long periods. It is caused by corynebacteria, and/or possibly the bacteria Dermatophilus congolensis. Treatment To Cure Pitted keratolysisTreatment generally consists of hygienic measures, sometimes supplemented by topical medications and perhaps an oral medication.
